Bostonians Looking For Charging Stations and Summer EV Rebates

Massachusetts residents are loving their new EV vehicles. The goal of the state is to make charging EV vehicles worry free for those interested in purchasing a green-friendly vehicle. Although the charging stations are prevalent throughout the Boston area, in areas south of Boston, they are fewer and farther between. They are also improving the stations to Level 2 charging stations, which charge vehicles more quickly. Massachusetts’ boasts 202 charging stations throughout the state, with no two more than 60 miles from any other.

Many Bostonians must wait over a half an hour to charge their electric vehicles at charging stations away from their homes. But Massachusetts residents have a few more incentives to make the switch. Governor Patrick announced last December, that he will begin giving rebates of $2500 to buyers of new electric, or plug-in hybrids. That is on top of the $7,500 federal tax credit. So that can be $10000 in savings between the rebate and tax credit.
